Site Recommendation: Earth Hour 2010 (Before and After)

April 6, 2010 at 1:33 PM

Earth Hour was recognized a little over a week ago, as cities throughout the world encouraged their citizens to turn off their lights—from households to iconic buildings.  This site shows a few of these world renowned places, and if you click on the photo, you’ll see its transformation to what it looked like during the Earth Hour. You may get a kick out of it, I certainly did.

Site Recommendation: Jologs Translator

March 24, 2010 at 1:41 AM

It’s a play on the whole “jologs” style of texting. I generally don’t refer to that text language bullshit as “jologs” but this site does.

I have long fought a crusade against the cancers of society that text in that obnoxious and stupefied style of messaging where there are capitalizations in the miDdle of the woRds, or the play on words like “me” and “you”, extra letter “H’s” on po, and all the other text or chat styles that make my hair turn gray at an early age.

I can only hope you people perish in the most painful way the world can offer. I hate you that much. So much, that I have refused to respond to any text that is sent with that style. And God forbid, if I ever need to translate such a message,

this is the site I would have to use. The Jologs Translator.

Site Recommendation: Young Me/Now Me

I absolutely love this site! Created by Zefrank.com, Young Me/Now Me is a website of people who re-created photos of themselves as kids.  The pictures are great to look at and even inspiring me to be pro-active and take the same kind of photo. You can’t miss this site, click on Read More to see more pics and for the link to Young Me/Now Me

No Worries for Random Links

March 17, 2010 at 12:00 AM

Designed to help people view all of those random links sent to them during the day while at work, VariablySFW creates a preview of any site before actually loading it in the browser so you’ll know whether the boss will approve or not.

If you are still worried that even a preview might get you in serious trouble at work? VariablySFW has thought of that too. Any site loaded for a preview starts completely blacked out and can be slowly brightened for clear viewing once you know the coast is clear.
